Gavi’s Advance Market Commitment for COVID-19 Vaccines (Gavi Covax AMC)

The Covid-19 Global Vaccine Access Facility (Covax Facility) is being developed to invite global participation to pool demand and resources to support procurement of Covid-19 vaccines. The Covax Facility will involve public and private donors, vaccines manufacturers and researchers and aims to distribute a Covid-19 vaccine to all countries involved. The goal of raising $2B will be sufficient for participating governments to immunize 20% of their population. The Gavi Covax AMC has been inspired by a previous highly successful Advance Market Commitment for pneumococcal vaccines.
